Therma-Tru Construction in Wildomar, CA | Square One Builders
We install and service Therma-Tru door systems across Wildomar, and the work here skews different than what you’d see in Murrieta or Temecula. Wildomar’s semi-rural lots, clay-heavy ground, and Cal Fire defensible-space rules on the Santa Rosa Plateau side change which doors make sense and how they need to be installed. We’re an independent contractor, not a Therma-Tru authorized dealer, which means we spec and install without a manufacturer’s sales agenda. Call (877) 688-9930 for a free estimate on Therma-Tru entry doors, patio sliders, or full door replacement tied into a larger remodel.

Why Wildomar Residents Choose Us for Therma-Tru Service
Most contractors in Wildomar treat a door as trim work. We don’t. A Therma-Tru Fiber-Classic or Smooth-Star slab on a west-facing entry off a rural road takes real abuse from UV, Santa Ana wind-driven dust, and seasonal clay movement that shifts the frame. We’ve been pulling Therma-Tru doors apart and putting them back together on custom and semi-custom Wildomar homes for years, so we know where these systems fail before we open the box. Brent Calloway, our owner and general contractor, learned framing and finish work through the Construction Technology program at Golden West College and spent decades on job sites where you read the blueprint in the parking lot and ask questions until the answer holds up. That instinct carries into the door work. When a homeowner calls about a Therma-Tru door that sticks every August, we look at the foundation, not just the hinge side. And when OEM parts exist, we order them. When they don’t, we say so and offer an aftermarket fix that won’t embarrass itself in two years. That’s the Therma-Tru sales & service standard we hold to.

Common Therma-Tru Construction Problems We Solve in Wildomar
- Fiberglass skin cracking and chalking on west-facing entries. Wildomar’s summer sun sits on west-facing doors from mid-afternoon until sunset, and unshaded Fiber-Classic slabs eventually chalk and develop hairline cracks in the skin. We see it most on older ranch properties with no porch overhang. The fix is usually refinishing, but severe delamination means slab replacement.
- Wood-edge rot along the lock stile and bottom rail. Santa Ana wind-driven rain finds its way past worn weatherstripping on Therma-Tru doors with wood stiles and rails. The water sits in the bottom rail, rot starts, and within a season or two the corner joint loosens. We see this on homes throughout 92595 where doors take direct wind exposure rather than a sheltered suburban entry.
- Doors that stick or bind as clay soils shift. Wildomar sits on clay that expands in winter and contracts hard through the dry season. Frames throw themselves out of square on slab-on-grade and pier-and-beam foundations alike. A Therma-Tru door that rings true in January may bind at the top latch by August. Sometimes the fix is realignment; sometimes the frame needs re-shimming.
- Uneven factory finish fade on the hinge side. Therma-Tru doors rarely get uniform sun. The hinge side of a slab often fades faster than the latch side, especially on Custom-Craft doors with complex panel profiles. By year five or six, homeowners notice the two-tone look. We refinish when the slab is sound and replace when the skin is too far gone.
- Failed weatherstripping and sweeps from dust and heat cycling. Right around the I-15 corridor and the older rural roads, summer dust gets into the jamb and
